Mindshare Names New Digital Director For Chicago Office

CHICAGO—Chris O’Brien, a marketing executive with extensive experience in interactive strategy management and development, was named Managing Director, Digital Office Lead, for Mindshare Chicago.

The announcement was made today by Dan Reaume, head of Mindshare’s Chicago office.  O’Brien’s appointment is effective immediately, and he will report directly to Reaume.

“Chris’s credentials are of the highest caliber, and he brings us a wealth of experience in both digital communications and client service,” Reaume said.  “I’m confident that he will inspire his colleagues while providing new ideas and approaches to drive client business growth.”

O’Brien’s responsibilities include leading the application of new digital strategic approaches, consumer insights, tools and digital technologies across the agency’s entire client base.  He will act as a digital partner to the account leaders and management leadership team in Chicago.

Mindshare is one of four global WPP media agency networks within GroupM, along with Maxus, MEC, and MediaCom.   Clients serviced out of the Chicago office include BP, Kimberly-Clark, RadioShack and Motorola.

Prior to joining Mindshare, O’Brien worked from 2008-2011 at Razorfish in Chicago where he  was responsible for identifying, developing and implementing large scale digital marketing campaigns for some of the organization’s largest clients.

O’Brien has a diverse background in media, creative and project management, and has worked on accounts for Fortune 500 clients at agencies including Arc Worldwide/Leo Burnett and 141 Worldwide/Ogilvy One. He received his Bachelor of Arts from Columbia University, New York, and a MFA from The City College of New York.  He holds dual Irish-US citizenship, and has lived and worked in Guatemala, Ireland, Vietnam and Korea.
