WPP and GroupM Top WARC Media 100 for Eighth Consecutive Year

  • Mindshare and EssenceMediacom take the top 2 spots in the agency networks list 
  • GroupM agencies make up six of the top 10 agencies  
  • Nearly half of the top campaigns feature WPP and GroupM clients, including eBay, L’Oréal and Unilever  

 

WARC (World Advertising Research Center) has once again ranked WPP and GroupM number one on its Media 100 List 2025, marking the eighth consecutive year. The WARC Media 100 is a ranking of the world’s most awarded campaigns and companies for media, tracking the results of media award shows around the world and acting as a benchmark for media excellence. 

Four WPP and GroupM agencies feature in the top 10 agency networks, with Mindshare and EssenceMediacom ranking first and second respectively – both agencies climbing one position from 2024 – and Wavemaker and VML ranking eighth and ninth.   

GroupM also dominated the agencies category, claiming six of the top 10 spots. Mindshare New York and EssenceMediacom New York ranked second and third respectively, with Mindshare teams in Shanghai and Mumbai ranking fourth and sixth, and EssenceMediacom teams in Shanghai and London in eighth and ninth position. 

Almost half of the top 10 campaigns were awarded to WPP and GroupM clients. eBay was recognised twice in the top 100 rankings and its work on the Twiggy Full Circle campaign with EssenceMediacom London came in fifth place. L’Oréal came ninth for its Michael CeraVe campaign with Ogilvy New York, and Unilever was recognised for its campaigns with Dove, Vim, Lifebuoy, Sunlight, Yumoş, Taj Mahal Tea and Domex, featuring ten times within the top 100. Dove was recognised for four separate campaigns and came in at number ten for its work on CROWN x LinkedIn: #BlackHairIsProfessional alongside Mindshare New York.
